Removing the Clutter
Your starting point should be sorting your closet. Once you've sorted everything you have you can select the best closet organizer to keep everything orderly and possibly triple your bedroom storage space. Get started by taking everything out of your closet and sorting it into piles like "keep", "discard", "donate", and "seasonal".
The Keep Pile
Your "Keep" pile will include articles of clothing you expect to use in the next few months or so. They'll go right back in the close when you are ready.
These go right into a garbage bag, and you don't look back. A good rule of thumb is to put everything you haven't used in the last year or so here, because you probably aren't going to use it. If it's still wearable, you might consider putting it in the "Donate" pile.
Many of us keep items simply because they show very little wear, despite the fact we never actually wear them. Donating these items can help you feel good about making the decision to get rid of it by donating them to those in need. As an added bonus, you can get a tax deduction for your donation, as well.
Keep a sturdy bin on hand and place seasonal items into it during their off-season. During the winter, summer clothes go in here. When it starts to warm up, just switch the clothing so your bulky winter clothes don't take up your closet space.
Do you have clothing that's too small for you, but you're committed to losing the weight to wear them again? Sort them and mark the storage bins by size so you can get to it when you get to the right size again.
